We all put a huge importance on the love of our parents, and how watching them love each other shapes how we show up in our marriage.
I would argue that our grandparents love for each other is just as important. Growing up I watched both sets of my grandparents show up and love each other in such a beautiful and selfless way that it will forever be a North Star for how I hope and pray I continue to learn how I should show up for Eric.
As I sit here and edit these pictures and how Sheila grandkids kept looking at their grandparents in these images, I knew they too were learning from their Granna and Pop how to love.
It’s a hand held, a quick peck, or a hug that in the moment means a little but captured in this way embodies so much more. These images that will outlive this moment will remind all the precious grand babies how deeply they were each loved by two people who adored each other so very much.
Of course to seal the emotion rollcoaster I went on during editing, I asked Sheila a couple of questions.
What do you love most about being Granna and Pops?
The thing we love the most is the excitement on their faces when they see us. Equally is watching their unique personalities start to develop, and seeing their parents in them.
What do you hope they always remember about you?
What we hope that they always remember is that we love them very much but our love is nothing to the love that God has for them and just like us, HE wants to spend time with them.
What a priceless gift you all are to each other. I can’t tell you how thankful I am to have had a few minutes in the middle of a pasture with your family!
Grandparents. This is YOUR sign to capture moments with your grands. So that when they are older they have core memories of the love yall shared. As a granddaughter to some pretty exceptional grandparents myself, I will say all the pictures I have with them are the most priceless possessions I own.
